Project Runway 9 - Come As You Are

I was so excited to see this season start! It was long awaited but it's finally here. This season Project Runway allowed us to see a casting special along with the final casting cuts, which we could finally see all the designers' previous works.

Once the final cast was established, the challenge is revealed to be a combination of two staple challenges of Project Runway. This is reminiscent of last season's first challenge, which they used their own clothes although they were given to another designer this time it was taken directly off their back and it was their sleepwear, and the first challenge of season 3, which they could use materials in their room except this time they were assigned to only take a bedsheet.

For a challenge using clothes they went to bed in and a bedsheet, the clothes did not turn out horrendously terrible but there are always bad outfits. Check out what the designers made:

The ones I like were the exact same as the judges.
Anthony:
I thought he turned out a very nice outfit. He gave it more of a punk vibe with the color palette. It was styled very well being disheveled, the trimmings were a smart idea and the skirt is nicely done.

Anya:
The pants really made this outfit, the fit and the design she added was well done. The top left me a bit blah but when I saw the back, it made it so much better.

Bert:
The was a great design, although it might be unsanitary to be wearing his boxers on that model. I think the dress is so well executed and made, it's just a great design. The judges are right the styling reminds me a bit of the 60s hair style and he could have gone modern.

The ones that were misses were:
Josh C.:
I felt this design just shrunk in the wash and it has unflattering lines in it.

Julie:
It was nice to see a bright standout color but that print makes it feel so juvenile. The pants didn't look that terrible until we got a close up and it was badly made for sure.

Oliver:
This design was just drab, boring and really unflattering to her body. If there was a bottom four I hope he's in it.

Rafael:
This outfit doesn't look like it fit her right. The top just looks like she's busting out of it rather than it being intentional. The pants were really tight on her and showing the darts was not a good idea. The necklace added some much needed color but it looks so bad with the outfit.

My Results:
Winner:
Bert! This design was great and who would have thought of this with boxers.

Out:
Rafael...just everything was wrong with this outfit.

Project Runway Season 9

"Originally from the minds of the Bravo Network, supermodel Heidi Klum, and Elle Magazine comes Project Runway (a spinoff of the Emmy-nominated series Project Greenlight), an all-new behind-the-scene documentary series and competition set in the other most glamorous business in the world: the fashion industry. For the nineth season, cameras will roll for fourteen episodes as up-and-coming designers compete in weekly challenges and are given all the resources of a top designer to prepare a competitive runway show for the next New York Fall Fashion Week."
- From TV.com.

I'm really excited for this season! I have been waiting for a new season for the longest time especially after watching every episode aired so far. Each week, I'll try to discuss my favorite designs and critiquing the worst designs, I'm really hoping to see designs that bring fashion to life and of course, the best thing about the show, the train-wrecks on the runway.

Based on their designer profile on myLifetime.com, the designers I'm really looking forward to see are Anthony Ryan Auld since he likes listening to ADELE and Lady Gaga while designer and one of his favorite designers is Alexander McQueen, which is my all time favorite designer. Bryce Black is another designer I'm looking forward to, he seems like he's a little monster since most of his inspirations are Lady Gaga and another fan of McQueen.

That's all I have for now everyone. Tune into Lifetime on tonight, July 28th at 9PM to see the season premiere then check back here!

Classic Audrey Hepburn

Our first inspiration came from Audrey Hepburn who was a timeless icon in the 1900s. Her iconic black dress featured in Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a classic look that will always be remembered. The simple black dress is something everyone must own in their closet. Its simplicity and sophistication makes it so breathtaking and fascinating which is the main reason why we chose Audrey Hepburn.  her elegance in this dress is what makes it remarkable, its what makes it unchanging.  In other words, this piece will never go out of style no matter what age you are, or what period you live in. But fear not, although Audrey Hepburn is timeless and classic, you can still unleash your inner Hepburn.

Thus, we present two different looks with a modern twist, fashionable for today’s time.
